Jordan Prentice: Dwarf Mime Artist.
In World War I, German forces occupied Bruges. However, the city suffered virtually no damage, and was liberated on 19 October 1918 by the Allies. The city was occupied by the Germans from 1940 during World War II and was again spared destruction.
It’s never explained clearly whether Ray lives or dies at the end of the film, but if he were to have died, then his arc of redemption is denied in the sense of his own life being taken in return for the young child’s, suggesting that Ray had been deserving of such an end all along.
Ray collapses on the street where Jimmy’s film is shooting. Harry catches up and repeatedly shoots Ray. One of the bullets hits Jimmy (costumed as a schoolboy), blowing his head open. Mistakenly believing that he has killed a child, Harry, despite protest from Ray, kills himself.
